Lumos Wine Company

The family-owned, third-generation Lumos Wine Company has been making wine in the small town of Philomath, on the edge of the Oregon Coast Range, for more than 25 years. Taking care of our people and our planet is a large part of what drives the Lumos practices of organic viticulture and minimal intervention in the land. Solar power is another way we can take care of our planet and its inhabitants.

The project will install 32 kW of solar panels on the roof of the Lumos winery building, which will supply more than 90% of the winery’s annual electricity use, and eliminate an estimated 30 tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually, equivalent to not driving a car more than 69,900 miles a year.

The project is a Solarize Corvallis project, which is a collaboration between the Oregon Clean Power Co-op and the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition.
