Is your roof too shady or facing the wrong way for solar panels?
Now you can get solar panels in a community solar project, and see the credit from the power they produce on your electric bill, as if they were on your roof.
- Our 3.2 MW project is located south of Roseburg, and will have room for several hundred households.
- We handle installation, ongoing operation and maintenance.
- Estimated cost: around $2.00/Watt
- The average Oregon home needs between 6,000 and 8,000 Watts of solar to meet 85% of its power needs. That works out to an investment of between $12,000 and $16,000.
- Payment schedule:
- 50% Deposit at sign up (refundable prior to start of construction)
50% At start of construction
- 50% Deposit at sign up (refundable prior to start of construction)
- Financing available.
- We expect the project to be eligible for the 30% federal tax credit. If it is, we’ll send you a refund when we get it, probably a year or two after construction finishes.
- Pacific Power customers only (note: we’re not associated with Pacific Power).
- The credits on your bill will go with you if you move within Pacific Power territory. If you move out of that area, your panels can be donated or sold.
Interested? Give us your name and contact info here, and attach or email us an electric bill if possible, and we’ll send you a form that authorizes Pacific Power and the Oregon Community Solar Program to let us know how much power you currently use and how many solar panels you’ll need. (We can email the form or send it to you by Docusign to sign electronically). There is no commitment with signing the form.
The project is a collaboration between nonprofit Solarize Rogue and the Oregon Clean Power Co-op.
