In 2007, Corvallis High School received a grant to put a tiny, 2.1 kW solar array on its roof. A decade later, the Oregon Clean Power Co-op brought together students, teachers, the Corvallis School District, and community members to finance and install 117 kW of solar on the school gym. The project was installed by BE Solar, a division of Benton Electric, Inc., which also participated in the financing.
